Due to the history of the word and the reclaiming of the word queer, it is often used as a self identifier and used within the LGBTQ+ community but is not a term for non LGBTQ+ people to use as they like.

Q is for Queer
The word queer was originally used as a slur and derogatory term but has been reclaimed since around the 1980s. The term queer comes from a history of struggle and can be seen as a rejection of heteronormativity.
#QisforQueer#AntiLGBTQPlusPhobia
Queer can be an umbrella term or a more broad, ambiguous way of describing both sexuality and gender.
Not all LGBT(Q)+ people identify as queer.

Transgender is an umbrella term and there are many gender identities under that umbrella for example gender queer or gender fluid. It includes those who identify outside the gender binary of male and female. Although not all non binary people identify as trans.

#TisforTransgender#AntiLGBTQPlusPhobia
Things you should not ask trans person are:
what gender they were assigned at birth, if they have changed their name or the name they were given at birth, questions about their body or if they have or want to have surgery, comments on their relationships.

B is for Bisexual
Bisexual is when a person is attracted to more than one gender.
Being bi doesn't automatically mean you're 50% attracted to men and 50% attracted to women.

G is for Gay
The term gay is primarily used to describe an attraction to someone of the same sex but also used more generally to express non heterosexual attraction.
Homophobia is defined as the unfounded dislike/ prejudice against gay people.
