@KevinNaughtonJr It’s only the worst decision of your life if you make it that way. Quitting a great job is hard, building your own business/career is hard. Choose your hard!
9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin,
10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands; no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." (Romans 3:9-12 ESV)
Sin is any transgression of the law of God.
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Imagine flippantly disrespecting, or worse, flagrantly disregarding the almighty, creator of the universe. Now imagine standing before His holiness and righteousness as a sinful human. Nothing could be more terrifying, EXCEPT…He loves us! For no reason but His own goodness, He is so merciful to sinners that He gave His own life for us, that we might be saved and enjoy His infinite love forever. Yet so many reject His sacrifice and spit on His kindness. If you know of His immense power and have heard of His amazing love, why do you not pursue Him with every last breath?
@Karabvolk We often do lamb for Easter, but one year we did a bit of research about Passover and had a Seder plate. It was really interesting to learn about and there were some good online, crossover references.
The problem with this approach is standardized testing as a metric of teaching performance. Teachers then teach to achieve the best test outcomes and kids who struggle in test situations are chronically outperformed. We need to identify aptitude early and focus on building competence and achieving mastery.
@libsoftiktok Used to love their ‘Phish food’ but I haven’t touched them in years. Not sure there’s anything they can do to convince me. Pretty sure their entire corporate hierarchy would have to be dismantled at this point.
Perhaps God was showing Abraham’s heart to Abraham. We only really know what we’re made of in testing. That’s just my musings. I heard a sermon preached that Abraham trusted God so much that he knew even if he killed Isaac, God would raise him from the dead to fulfill His promise.
@iamyesyouareno That’s depressing. Watching Shakespeare in London at The Globe is magical and a celebration of the best of Britain. Witnessing the miserable downfall of the entire UK is gut-wrenching.
Would highly recommend getting out your Christian bubble irl. Form relationships with people. Love, respect and serve those around you in the name of Jesus. When someone knows you genuinely care about them, you get the privilege of approaching them ‘in love’, because you’ve actually displayed love!
@DreamerJeri If those bricks are paving I would highly recommend moving your tree as the root system will become a problem in a few years. I hope it grows and gives you much return.
