When Canada walked away from the negotiating table with USA on the trade deals, I was a little surprised. When Pierre Poilievre and Doug Ford - 2 people who never agree with Mark Carney on ANYTHING - came out and vocally backed Carney on this, it got my attention. How bad could the deal be to where THOSE TWO would vocally back Carney?
I'm about to tell you.
If you ever see a midwit talking about how Canada should have taken the trade "deal" ( @DavidPollackUSA, someone nobody has ever accused of being intelligent, seems to be especially on this kick of late), here are some of the details of the terms of what the US demanded - which essentially amounted to making Canada a subservient nation-state instead of an independent country. And no, this isn't a joke - these were real demands.
-Canada would have to abandon speaking French in Quebec
-They would have had to follow the US in ANY TRADE WARS Trump started with any other nation
-They would have to open their borders to allow US tech companies to start putting datacenters all over their country
-They would have given the US VETO AUTHORITY over any other trade deal Canada wanted with any other country
-They would have required Canada to voluntarily bankrupt all of its dairy farmers by allowing US dairty to proliferate into Canada unfiltered
-They would have had to agree to standardize their fertilizer and pesticide standards to what the US does (Canada's regulations are more stringent, so they would have had to accept our pesticides that cause cancer)
-They would have had to surrender their sovereignty with regards to their minerals
And these are just a few of the highlights.
Trump's "deal" was essentially to strip Canada of its sovereignty. No wonder they walked away.
European citizens stand with Canada.
Canada is defending its culture and autonomy with honour and courage and in doing so, it’s also protecting a piece of European culture.
Full support to our Canadian friends and allies.

Trump’s board thought they could defy the court & slap his name back on the Kennedy Center in slightly different form
They were wrong—we immediately filed for an emergency stay, & hearing has been set for Thursday

HOLY CRAP!
A conservative Washington Examiner reporter says she uncovered 37 pages of Trump/Epstein FBI files the DOJ had apparently missed or withheld. The documents detail a woman’s allegations of 2 years of sexual abuse by Trump and Epstein, include her unredacted name and potential corroborating witnesses, and reportedly show FBI investigators viewed the claims as credible before DOJ labeled the records “duplicative” and redacted them.
Oh that self satisfied smirk of a man who publicly claimed he cut ties in 2005 with Jeffrey Epstein, never to be in a room with him again.
Only to in December 19, 2012 to email “Jeff, we are landing in St Thomas early Saturday afternoon and planning to head over to Bart’s/Anguilla on Monday. Where are you located. Does Sunday evening sound good for dinner.”
He is only one of the scumbags that the Trump administration refuses to investigate
Peter Donolo: "Danielle Smith, on just about every issue, Canada-U.S., separatism in Alberta, likes to play both sides of the game. I would encourage her to remember what country she belongs to."
Nous sommes aujourd’hui plus forts qu’au moment où les États-Unis ont déclenché cette guerre commerciale. Nous sommes plus unis, plus déterminés et plus ambitieux.
