You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught
from South Pacific
You've got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You've got to be taught
From year to year,
It's got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.
Premiered in 1949
@WalshFreedom The party of "character matters" "family values" & "personal responsibility" became the party of "look what you made me do" & "because I say so."
Many "conservatives" espoused beliefs in a deeply hypocritical manner...demanding a behavior of others they did not live themselves.
The richest man in the world says Americans must suffer the "hardship" of $2 trillion in cuts to public spending, while he still gets tax cuts, government contracts, and corporate welfare. No wonder I got a little angry talking about it.

@TJCoachTJ@RadioFreeTom Correct, he called for "termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” in a Truth Social Post in Dec '22
Tariffs & mass deportation will tank the US economy & make food & goods more expensive for US customers.
Not a win for normal folk
"While pundits have busied themselves over the past 10 days nitpicking Kamala Harris’s campaign, one thing is abundantly clear: She was held to the highest standards of leadership while Trump was held to no standard at all." https://t.co/GA8fc8mX16
As I predicted in 2014. Ukraine gave up its nukes and couldn’t join NATO and was invaded. If American security guarantees are worthless, nuclear proliferation is inevitable, and dangerous. Don’t only blame Trump for this; Obama sounded the retreat and Biden continued it.
@RadioFreeTom Media will chase the chaos of chaff and flares and other shiny objects as our Constitutional Republic crumbles beneath the weight of kakistocracy.
Voters chose the least qualified twice. This time on the theory that he would not ActUally keep his promises of dictatorship.
@RadioFreeTom Question: is Trump the first POTUS candidate elected on the theory that he wouldn't ActUally fulfill his promises? "Oh, he won't ActUally (impose tariffs, pursue mass deportation, suspend the Constitution)"
So, when Biden nominated a Black 4-star general and former CENTCOM commander (Lloyd Austin) as Secretary of Defense, it was DEI. But when Trump nominates a white Fox News host to be Secretary of Defense, it’s meritocracy.

I think one of the most difficult reckonings of this election is that the incentives we thought inspired voting choices -- a better life for your family and future for your community -- may not be as decisive as the desire to dominate and inflict cruelty on outgroups. Explanations that don't grapple with this point generally read to me like liberal wishcasting.
Two people with their own private jets indiscriminately ending government programs and personnel they’ve never used or needed while continuing to run their own businesses.
What could go wrong?
So, the first Trump effort to “rein in government waste and drive efficiencies” is to create a new government agency with two heads? Seems… counterproductive.
You can't pretend to be pushing for Reagan's "peace through strength" and then give Putin everything he wants. The appeasement of dictators never works. & Reagan never did that with Moscow.
Next from Politico: A contest to guess how many people will be mass deported in Trump’s first 100 days! And let’s break it down into categories. How many elderly people? How many children? How many parents with no criminal record? Let’s make Trump’s fascism fun.
