Another great session with teachers at Wester Hailes High School, Edinburgh, this afternoon. Building on themes from our previous two sessions, we were unpacking ‘differentiated support and challenge’ and ‘adaptive teaching’. Always a super team to work with 😊

It bothers me when the sensible push back on ‘three differentiated levelled tasks every lesson’ and undeliverable individualised learning ideals .. turns into an anti-differentiation dogma (almost a fetish!) : teach everyone the same as if they all have the same starting points and really it’s just too bad if they don’t get it; it’s up to them to catch up.!

Wave 2: Team process; curriculum specifics, team coaching cycles, learning walks, collective feedback, peer support, middle leader driven
