Myles Turner after the Bucks 126-110 victory over the Bulls in the NBA Cup:
Reporter: “What did you think of that green court?”
Myles Turner: “Umm, I’m not mad it. It looks a lot better than yellow.”
It really all came down to money lol it’s not that deep.
Indiana negotiated hard because they didn’t see any team as a threat to pry Myles away, and his agent found a team willing to make big financial changes to pay Myles more than Indiana was close to offering.
Pacers FO said they would have liked to have had the chance to re-sign Myles, but they were never going to match what Milwaukee gave him. Especially with a 15% trade kicker.
Front office said the goal was to re-sign Myles and I Jax and ownership was willing to go into the tax. They played hardball with Myles and he got the better of them in the negotiations.
Teams are 4-1702 since 1996-97 when trailing by 7+ in the final 50 seconds of 4th quarter or any OT. The Pacers have 3 of those 4 this playoffs. Thanks @PatBoylanPacers for THAT nugget. Boom Baby @Pacers
