@carterfogarty24 The Rockies pitcher, Tanner Gordon, was a grad from the H.S. I taught at. I never directly taught him, but I knew him. He was a good kid. There's another former grad in the Angels minor league organization, Jake Munroe. His mom is a math teacher at the H.S. (Champaign Central)

@ThomasEWoods @Mr_Fireside I saw him on a random Monday...4/7/1997...in Urbana, IL during his Dance into the Light album tour. The concert was freaking fantastic! The timing was nice that all of his hits were pretty much recorded by then so there weren't any songs that we would regret missing.

And FYI, my parents saw a UFO back in the late 80's/early 90's on their way to a H.S. basketball game. Others saw the same "strange lights" in the sky as well. No explanation was given for them.

@BridgetPhetasy We were together when the news of Charlie Kirk broke. She saw it on her phone and told me. We watched the footage, and both knew he's doomed. That shook me more than 9/11 did. NYC seemed less personal/farther away. I didn't "know" anyone who died on 9/11. I "knew" Charlie.

@BridgetPhetasy I was teaching H.S. on 9/11. I was reviewing for a 9/12 test with my classes. Few teachers had TV's in their rooms back then. At lunch, I went to see what happened. I missed it all & had to catch replays. Meanwhile, my wife was off work & watched it alone. She was freaking out!
