📍 I went inside another Hamas tunnel today — this time in Shejaiya, on the outskirts of Gaza City.

🇮🇱 The Israeli military says it has destroyed most of Hamas’s tunnels in the Israeli-controlled part of Gaza, but many remain on the Hamas-controlled side.

⏳ An IDF commander we spoke to said locating and destroying the remaining tunnels could take years.

💥 Some tunnels are destroyed with explosives. Others are filled with cement when they are too close to civilians for explosives to be used safely.

🕳️ Hamas is estimated to have built more than 500 km of tunnels beneath Gaza since taking power nearly 20 years ago.

⚡ Many are highly sophisticated, equipped with electricity, running water, bathrooms and sleeping quarters.
