I am fine with Eberflus as #Bears head coach. He obviously has the locker room, the defense is playing amazing, and they finished so strong.
If Eberflus can get a good offensive coordinator, and keeps clock management under control, i really don't see what's stopping this team..
Okay yes I get it he didn't lose us the game
Credit to him for winning us the game, but there were some big turnovers that made this game a lot closer than it should've been.
After todays loss, I’m overall happy. Call me crazy. But let’s break down today.
1.) #Bears will move on from parts or all of this staff. This roster, which was “fully”healthy for the first time all year, almost beat the hottest team in the NFL over the last 20 games, on the road. Even with bad coaching, job was almost done. Poles and Warren know if they get the best of the best staff next year, like what Dan Campbell has built, Chicago can be dangerous.
2.) Justin Fields is the guy. Clearly playing in pain, and with a terrible play caller, he still was over 250+ yards of offense, moved the chains, and got it done. This guy wants the Bears and it’s fans to win. And the powers above him and in between Poles are what’s stopping him. We can now go all in on MHJ and another key area in the draft with our top picks.
3.) Montez Sweat was a great trade. His impact on a defensive line without another game wrecker is unmatched. He will be so key for this defense moving forward, and takes a huge need at EDGE off for FA/Draft (though I wouldn’t be mad if we got more)
4.) The linebackers are good to go. Edwards is playing at All-Pro levels, Edmunds has ramped up, and Sanborn is a beast. Still want to see more what Sewell can do, but I have high hopes.
5.) The OL line is right there. 2 sacks today against a TOUGH DET DL is very impressive. If we get a center in the draft, I really think they’re a top-10 unit.
6.) Overall, this team played for themselves. The energy was the best it’s been all year. Players were celebrating, encouraging, and picking each other up. This roster knows they’re getting good. And they need to stick together.
Fire this staff, bring in the best, and I’m telling you, this team….📈
Why isn't Sam Howell getting any media attention for his performance?
2783 passing yards (first)
18 total touchdowns
9 interceptions
66.5 completion percentage
Yes, these starts aren't insane, but he was a mid 4th round draft pick, he's 23, and is in his second year with only one start in his rookie year.
I think it's time we give this man some attention.
See how Darnell Wright comprehends that he needs to help the other lineman and not just stand there after his guy is knocked down?
We need more of that.
My biggest takeaway from tonight's game?
#Bears Undrafted free agent rookie Tyson Bagent outplayed #Panthers #1 overall pick Bryce Young on Thursday Night Football.
Just incase that wasn't obvious already...
