Vlatko leaving KC is a massive shock.
Achieved SO much there, trusted young talent and guided them to greatness.
Would love to see him back as a head coach in the NWSL
The Chicago Stars have now conceded six goals in back-to-back games, a new level of futility. Eight days after losing 6-1 to Denver, Chicago loses 6-0 at home to North Carolina. The Stars are well on their way to the worst goal difference in #NWSL history (currently -40).
Saved another drill last night? That's the problem. The drill is step three. Diagnosis and a plan are steps one and two, and you skipped them. The feed never sells those. They're free. What are you working on? If you can't write it in one sentence, that's your diagnosis.
Motivation is a guest. It turns up when it fancies, leaves without telling you, and never checks your training plan first. Individual development is all I’ve done for twenty years, and I’ve not met the player who has it every day. Which is why my system has no step called “feel like it”: diagnosis, plan, session, homework, game evidence, review. Every Women’s World Cup since 2007 has had players I’ve trained in it. A run like that is not a mood, it’s a schedule. So shrink your session to the worst-day floor, put it on the calendar so you decide once instead of daily, and count sessions done, not feelings felt.
Use motivation when it visits. Stop needing it.
Save this for the week the feeling doesn’t show up.
