Rupee depreciation explained for u.

The table shows figures from 2010
Net inflow of fii/fpi, current account defecit, and exchange rate.

It clearly shows that whenever fii was buying heavily the rupee has stabilized or gained.

In 2014-2015, we were net bop positive (inflow more than outflow)
In such a case the rupee would have appreciated but rbi bought the bop and made the currency stable . ( Buying here means creating rupees from thin air and buying dollars)

Basically we don't need an appreciating rupee when CAD is negative because that would hurt exports.
We want a depreciating or stable rupee( stable for preferred)since we have inflation.
Also to support exporters because most of our exports have elastic demand and lack any innovation. So if rupees appreciate then they lose buyers .

We can have an appreciating rupee if CAD is positive.

So why is the current fall dangerous ?
1 sudden fall creates more FII to exit
2 CAD goes bad everything becomes very expensive because the import cost of oil suddenly jumps..but export won't increase suddenly
3 loop creation- fii sell more rupee falls..rupee falls..crude cost rise..again fii sell..again rupee fall..
That's the loop..sudden fall in rupees causes this.

4 debt burden
For govt and corporate more interest more principal.

Now the major problem is oil..import cost. Now u will think why don't the govt accelerate push for ev? If the govt pushes for ev how will they get tax on petrol?

Very disappointing service at Saisha Motors, Jaipur. After service, the Skoda logo on the door is coming out, 2 new front scratches, interior not cleaned, dust and white powder at back, cup holders and seats dirty. 4 year package does not mean poor service
