Political thoughts of a political science & economics major. made as an alt acct on 07/26/2020 because I didn’t want to flood my followers with political takes.
@EmmanuelMacron@JoshEakle Thank you to the French nation that played an instrumental role in making our founding fathers bold and beautiful vision of America become a reality. We are here in large part thanks to you.
@EudaimoniaEsq $10M to quickly and thoroughly provide the the desperately needed upkeep for one of the single most iconic landmarks in the entire country for the long term future and WaPo is trying to frame it as a bad thing. Laughable.
@Joshua6440@Griot2325 If the average Gen Z adult would cut their food delivery spending in half, they’d save $3000 annually. Not having enough to cover an unexpected expense is a self-fulfilling problem. If you actually tried to have some savings to fall back on, you’d be amazed how fast they accrue.
@Noahpinion Anecdotally, I’ve spoken to far more people IRL who are concerned about water, environmental impact, and energy usage than anything else when it comes to discussing AI and data centers. I agree it feels like a trivial element of the conversation, but the public is hooked on it.
@TheLaurenChen Because high earners are driving profits for fast food, contrary to popular belief. This leads many brands to chase the premium market, even when it leads to the absurdity of paying sit down prices at the drive-thru window.
@allie__voss They need to cut back on the menu, not expand it. Trim it down to their best sellers to reduce costs and pass those savings onto the customer through a few ultra competitively priced loss leaders to get customers in the door.
@WildWestShow4@cturnbull1968 You could seize every penny of his net worth, along with Musk’s, Gates, and Zuckerberg’s, and it would hardly make a dent in our debt. We cannot tax our way out of the fiscal pit we dug ourselves into.
@cturnbull1968 If you applied his entire net worth to our federal spending it wouldn’t even cover a year of servicing the debt. Cutting spending is the only way to fix our budget.
@wallstengine For anyone who is mad about this. If you applied Bezos and Musk’s entire net worth to our federal spending, their combined net worth would cover less than one year of just servicing the interest payments on our debt. Cutting spending is the only way.
@MassieNation19 Massie was literally funded by a Jewish billionaire. When will the retard right admit this was about Massie not voting with Trump on his OBBB and not about Israel?
@BowTiedNiners The housing market is a mess and I absolutely agree that it needs to be fixed. But the mess of a housing market doesn’t justify blowing $25 on lunch. Even though the housing market is screwed up, there are still other very legitimate reasons to not burn through your paycheck.
@JoshEakle I liked Massie and before he shifted to “Da juice-ism” I thought, agree to disagree on some foreign policy topics, but he’s a good guy. That changed. Now that man is one step short of Tucker Carlson with a congressional vote now though, and I’m glad he’s out of politics for that.
@JoshEakle I had no issue with Massie being a fiscal hawk. I’m not a huge OBBB fan either, but Massie embraced third worldist “everything is Israel” schizo politics, which is just pathetic. He can oppose the war and spending all he wants. Embracing retard right conspiracy thinking is wrong.
