Braime nation, I come to you desperate and shamed. I have read a pitiful amount of Braime fics on AO3 and thanks to my gross amount of PTO left this year, I’ll finally have time to read. Might anyone share some recs? Please and thank you.
You can literally pinpoint the fall of GOT to S5 (eg Barri dying, Jaime in Dorne). D&D shat on the books and had the worst character development & plot in all fanfic. There is no “show canon” despite some people thinking it counts. The books are canon.
‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ showrunner Ira Parker says his goal with the series is to follow Dunk and Egg's entire lives ⚔️
• 4–5 seasons with Egg as a child
• Return 10 years later for 4–5 seasons with Egg as a prince
• Return another decade later for 4–5 seasons with Egg as an adult
"It would be over the course of their lifetime. And mine too"

@johntalsr@westerosies And I think you’re right on Dayne. The only battle we “see” him in is that battle beside Barri against the Kingswood Brotherhood. I’ll be curious to eventually learn what went down at TOJ cause I struggle to see Dayne doing out like that.
@johntalsr@westerosies I’d say Selmy’s best prime win was defeating Maelys the Monstrous to end the last Blackfyre Rebellion. That guy sounded like a beast - worse than Gregor Clegane.
@johntalsr@westerosies Though he also once picked Brienne to defend him and he once named Daemon Blackfyre of similar skill (to Dayne and Selmy). I feel like he enjoys having lots of great (eg swordsman, cunning) with named peers of equal ability to make it a) interesting and b) more realistic.
@johntalsr@westerosies “…supper the night before. A change in the wind may bring the gift of victory." Great lines delivered by one of the greats. Now two greats against one (plus Bronn)? That’s easy. Barri & Jaime vs Arthur & Daemon B? I’m NOPEing the F out of there.
@johntalsr@westerosies "I have seen a hundred tourneys and more wars than I would wish, and however strong or fast or skilled a knight may be, there are others who can match him. A man will win one tourney, and fall quickly in the next. A slick spot in the grass may mean defeat, or what you ate for…
@johntalsr@westerosies Again, I’m not “giving” anyone anything. I am illustrating a point about a weapon being an advantage not based on actual skill. Also, the post clearly states “all 4 at best”, though even “past prime Barri” is still killing worthy foes in the books (like Mero and Khrazz).
@johntalsr@westerosies There are many incredible warriors and swordsman in GRRM’s world. That’s rather the point for him never naming a “greatest”. So no, Arthur isn’t “maybe” the greatest, nor is Barri. I also never said Barri fought w/ Valyrian steel. I said give him such a sword and there’s no edge
@IndianaHoss@westerosies Nothing more pathetic than blocking someone because you don’t have a leg to stand on. I asked for something… anything… Arthur actually did. The response? Toddler-sized temper tantrum, name calling response and immediate block to “get the last word”. Too funny. 🤣
@IndianaHoss@westerosies I think the author knows better than you and he literally said they are equal. Also, Arthur was overhyped and got his ass killed. Barristan has an epic page and is much more resourceful. It’s not even close. Barri clears him.
@Whitesith393@Hail_star49189@westerosies Having an edge over someone doesn’t mean a guaranteed win. GRRM said Barri and Arthur are equal but Arthur only has the edge with Dawn. It’s Team A by miles.
