Fiesty northerner. Generally trying (and often failing) to love God and love people more. Most content with a good book/large g&t/proper brew and the sea. ❤
LOVE THIS! Whilst I'm currently in the throws of juggling being back at work full time with only part time childcare and still breastfeeding (the juggle is hard 😫🤯😴 ) things like this bring me so much hope.
One day I might get a baby friendly chapter meeting, one day....
Did you know they have a family room in Parliament? While I get a nursery place organised I’ll be bringing Eli plus a carer for him with me and using this room a lot!!
In celebration of the wonderful @frankcottrell_b taking over as @waterstones#ChildrensLaureate, we are giving away this set of his books. Just like & retweet to enter and tag a friend for an extra chance to win. Closing Date 17 July 2024
L said her first word today. It was really special. I'd been trying hard with her for ages and then she looked us lovingly in the eyes and said "Dada."
Fuming.
I grew her, birthed her and have fed her approximately every 4 hours for 10 months and she says Dada.
The bloody cheek.
@PennyCE27 And I totally get they can't meet every need or be this crazy generous employer but trying to teach a baby to eat solid food when working 6 days a week is not the dream. But baby steps and all (pub obviously intended)!
@PennyCE27 In fairness, I'm going to this Multiply conference tomorrow which is hopefully a baby friendly space, which will be great if true.
And I think diocese do want to be flexible, just the reality of it sometimes misses the mark.
@PennyCE27 Exactly. It's not about shame but reality. The reality of sore boobs and leaking and sleeplessness and raging hormones and an expectation to function at 100% as if nothing else is happening, when in fact all you can think about is the small babe who needs you at home...
@PennyCE27 Using my annual leave up just to get us to the days when L is in nursery which will then cost us £900 for not even full time, (and obviously will still have to be paid when we're away.)
Partly so my church can run after school and holiday clubs for kids (which mine can't use) 🙃
