A historian from Belfast, focusing on 20th century Irish history. A PhD from Ulster University and works with the Newtowncunningham Community Outreach Project.
There was a good exhibition launch at the Museum of Orange Heritage last night, sponsored by the @ArinsProject, of the history of the Protestant Associations of Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan.
The exhibition will go to the White House in Newtownabbey on 2 March with a talk at 7pm.
@Seananocoistin@ArinsProject Hi @Seananocoistin, these refer to those that were Protestant by faith. Whilst the Protestant Associations originally came from the Unionist Associations of the border counties, they became ‘Protestant’ afterwards to reflect change after partition and rally all political opinions
The launch of the Protestant Association exhibition at the Monaghan Peace Campus, went great today, thanks in part to the Monaghan County Museum and funding from the @ArinsProject. We had approximately 70 people attend the launch, along with former Minister Heather Humphreys
I am proud to announce the publication of my latest book with @Palgrave MacMillan:
The History of the Protestant Associations of Counties Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan from 1920 to 2016

@Pmacgiollabhain@Pmacgiollabhain thank you for your comments, I wanted to write a book during the centenary of the Irish Boundary Commission. But I wanted to show how the border affected everyone, Unionists and Nationalists. It was a tough exercise and would be interested in your thoughts.
A great exhibition launch this month at Cavan County Museum, which is supported by the ARINS Project.
I look forward to the next phase of the exhibition series into the new year.
Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy New Year!

It was a very interesting experience to be interviewed on The History Show on RTÉ Radio 1, along with Cormac Moore. Tonight’s show focused on the 1925 Irish Boundary Commission and our respective books.
