I have had hundreds of constituents contact me about the abortion amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill.
Today, I was proud to vote to decriminalise abortion.
Here is my full statement 👇
A woman who was acquitted last month of having an illegal abortion has told #Newsnight the vote to decriminalise abortion in England & Wales means ‘we are finally free of an unjust & archaic law’
Nicola Packer says a clear message has been sent to police forces & the CPS: ‘your misogyny will not be tolerated. Now I can finally get on with rebuilding my life, along with all the other women who’ve been forced to suffer’
We are looking for autistic children and young people, aged 11-18 to complete a survey which will take about 15 minutes. If your child is interested, and you are happy for them to take part please click on the link for more info: https://t.co/WPhBZREi82
📢 My analysis today shows nearly 18,000 domestic abuse crimes are missing from police statistics - after police were instructed to count fewer crimes.
Administrative ease must never come before accurate recording of domestic abuse.

It’s #TimetoAct this #InternationalWomensDay. Ask your MP to commit to supporting Diana Johnson’s amendment to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales. If you are an MP, pledge that support publicly. #IWD2024

🪡 It was incredible to be surrounded by strong fearless women this morning and it is amazing working in an environment that empowers women and all those who have experienced DA.
On International Women’s Day, I am happy to launch the Life Experiences Reflection Tool for anyone to use around the world.
We have been undertaking studies of very large samples of women and girls since 2020, and have found that 57% of women and girls said they don’t have enough information about their trauma responses or coping mechanisms.
I built the LERT questionnaire as a gift.
I want everyone to be able to use a completely private, informative, educational and insightful tool that helps them to connect their feelings to their experiences. No more pathologisation. No more endless quizzes about whether we are mentally ill.
26 questions to understand your trauma and distressing experiences better. To learn about your coping styles and mechanisms. To explore your beliefs, thought patterns and biases.
Everyone receives a personalised trauma profile with tonnes of information and support at the end.
No sign up. Completely free. Anonymous. Confidential. Easy to use. Open to anyone aged 16+ (not just women and girls).
Thank you for supporting my work, I hope this tool is useful to everyone.
