The present is all anyone possesses. To waste it, to let it escape you, to fritter it away with fear or frustration, is not only to set yourself up for failure, it is a rejection of a beautiful gift.
Focus on the now. Be where you are…while you still can.
@missslick11@JeremyRyanSlate @Stefan01301380 @MikhailaFuller Also, following a dedicated program that progressively overloads the athlete(exerciser) in order to make absolute strength adaptation is required. For example, I use a program that progressively overloads from approx 75% to 100%. Lifting heavy is more beneficial for adaptation.
@missslick11@JeremyRyanSlate @Stefan01301380 @MikhailaFuller It seems like we are saying similar things. Going for a 1 rep max is a test and can be done periodically or in competition. It is not necessary to build strength in the deadlift.
@missslick11@JeremyRyanSlate @Stefan01301380 @MikhailaFuller Deadlifts develop strength in the lower back, core, & legs; glutes, hamstrings, & quads. Strengthening the hip-hinge position translates to things like picking things up, which many of us do multiple times a day. It enhances your grip strength.

@missslick11@JeremyRyanSlate @Stefan01301380 @MikhailaFuller Powerlifters and strongman train to build up an incredible amount of strength, stressing the body beyond what any person seeking wellness and fitness(most of us) would need to pursue. Again, this is hearsay and the opinions of random exercisers do not qualify as reliable data.

I think one of the main insights we get from studying reasoning, and fallacies, is that we're all prone to illogical thinking, and the evidence we have is often more inconclusive than we like to pretend. It should give us intellectual humility.
Consistent, quality performance is a byproduct of consistent, quality decision-making.
Sustained success is a collection of doing the right things for a long time on purpose, with purpose.
It's hard to act on your values if you don't know what they are. These questions can help identify them.
1. Deep down what matters?
2. What relationships do I want to build?
3. In which activities do I feel most alive?
4. If my stress were gone, what would I pursue?
Beating yourself up doesn't make you stronger. It leaves you bruised.
