Moving from Nigeria to Australia has given me a front-row seat to one of the world’s leading healthcare systems.
As a Master’s student in Healthcare Management, Policy & Leadership, I’ll be documenting my journey, learning how healthcare is funded, managed, and delivered in Australia.
I’ll also explore how AI and data can help to improve healthcare outcomes, efficiency, and decision-making across the healthcare sector.

One of the first thing I learnt through my data analytics journey is that not all data is the same.
Data can be grouped into two categories:
📌Categorical also Qualitative Data: Data that can be divided into two.
📌Numerical or Quantitative data: data which is measurable.
Before you can analyze data, you need to first know what type of data your working with and each type requires a different approach to measurement and analysis;
For example;
Gender= Nominal units➡️ Categorical
Income level= Ordinal units➡️Categorical
Number of patients= Discrete data➡️Numerical
Waiting time= Continuous data➡️Numerical
Optimal health care decisions starts with understanding your data sets.
