First controller in hand at 5 years (Atari 2600). Lived many lives, seen unimaginable places, always ready for new adventures! ...As long as it's safe.
@GoodGuysFree@NCaptainsteve@professorcynic1@JasonPlaysNMS@kanaju4@NMS10Thanks@NoMansZine Feels very reminiscent of the Beyond update, where they teased the title of Beyond very similarly. The fact they are teasing the name of the update before anything else, might be telling - But I am holding by breath and will not speculate and assume. It does feel important.
Well… I genuinely thought Hello Games were going to let the 10th Anniversary pass quietly. 😂
Yesterday the whole No Man’s Sky community was celebrating 10 years of the game, and I think most of us were sitting there hoping for something from Hello Games — even just an emoji or a little anniversary post.
Instead, they waited until today and dropped a full 10 Years of No Man’s Sky trailer…
…and then casually teased what appears to be the next update:
COSMOS 👀
Now the question is… what the hell is COSMOS?

I’ll be live on YouTube & Twitch, starting things off by looking back, reminiscing and warming up for the big community celebration.
Then later, Jason, Xaine, Bob and I reunite to bring back The Amazing Race almost 5 years later!
All across the entire community, Travellers are logging in to see if we can beat the original player record from 2016.
Come celebrate 10 years of No Man’s Sky with us! ❤️

@NoMansSky 1,000s of hours later and from the first day to today its an awesome game. Thank you @NoMansSky and @hellogames . From the first picture 2016 to this morning (9 August 2026) with KJ, Atlas, Moose and Boss. Happy 10th Anniversary, everyone.
#ADecadeInNMS No Man’s Sky was for me, the perfect blend of of all my childhood wants and dreams. I grew up in the 70’s, when Sci Fi was desolate, dangerous and surreal. The alien landscapes, the freedom to explore, has, and continues to, fuel the imagination of that young boy.
This was a Blast of a building project, with some of the most amazing creative minds in the community. What a perfect day to release this stunning cinematic, by none other than Kyle! Thanks for bringing it all to live!
Thanks you Dg_Squared and @NMScafe for organising and thanks to every builder involved!

Happy 10th Anniversary for #NoMansSky and all the travelers around. 🎂
The best game I ever played with the best community.
Let's celebrate playing all together and having lots of fun with other players 😍🎉🎉
🎂 Hoy el chico cumple 10 años.
10 años que nos enseñan que si crees en un proyecto y tienes un plan, ve a por él sin importar lo que pase.
De los viajes más insospechados nacen las cosas más increíbles.
Felicidades @NoMansSky

TODAY, NO MAN’S SKY TURNS 10
Ten years ago, on August 9, 2016, Travellers took their first steps into the universe of No Man’s Sky.
Since then, that universe has grown through countless updates, expeditions, discoveries, builds, stories, friendships and communities.
For me, it began with a journey towards the Galactic Centre. It eventually became years of building, guides, videos, collaborations, community events and memories that I could never have anticipated when I first launched the game.
Today at 18:00 UTC, players across every platform are being invited to log in at the same moment.
PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or Mac—it does not matter where you play or how long you have been part of the journey.
This is simply our opportunity to come together, celebrate ten years of exploration and say thank you to Hello Games.
I’ll be celebrating live today as well, including an Amazing Race reunion, so if you want to join us for the anniversary:

Let’s give them a number worth remembering.

TOMORROW, NO MAN’S SKY TURNS 10
On August 27, 2023, I attended the No Man’s Sky meetup in Guildford.
https://t.co/y80o2PphUo
For years, many of us had known one another through usernames, YouTube videos, livestreams, Discord conversations, screenshots and the things we created inside the game.
Meeting members of that community face-to-face made those connections feel real in a completely different way.
No Man’s Sky may have been the reason many of us first crossed paths, but the friendships and memories that grew from it extended far beyond the game itself.
Looking back at the journey from my first screenshot in 2016 to standing together with members of the community in Guildford, it is difficult to imagine how different the last ten years would have been without No Man’s Sky.
Tomorrow, we celebrate that journey together.

2 DAYS UNTIL NO MAN’S SKY TURNS 10
On April 1, 2021, my Alien Pyramid was featured by Hello Games alongside the Expeditions update.
https://t.co/5qTe1ucosR
This feature felt different from Tempus Fugit. The base was not only showcased on the official No Man’s Sky website—it was also selected as an in-game Featured Base.
That meant other players could travel directly to it from the teleporter aboard the Space Anomaly and experience the build for themselves.
There was something surreal about knowing that Travellers from across the community were suddenly arriving at a place I had created. A build that had previously existed within my own corner of the universe had become part of the journey for countless other players.
Seeing the Alien Pyramid featured was not only recognition for my creation. To me, it also represented how far the journey had come since posting Westworld less than two years earlier.

Thank you @hellogames for 10 wonderful years under the No Man's Sky!
I can't express in a tweet what it means to me to be a small part of this journey and everything you folks have done for me.
Thank you
❤️

3 DAYS UNTIL NO MAN’S SKY TURNS 10
On April 7, 2020, my base 'Tempus Fugit' was featured by Hello Games on the official No Man’s Sky website alongside the Exo Mech update.
https://t.co/xU99UoiZdx
For me, that feature represented far more than recognition for my build.
Glitch building had already become a growing part of the building community, but seeing Hello Games highlight a creation made using those techniques felt like a acknowledgement from the developers themselves.
It made glitch building feel seen—and accepted—as a genuine way to play, create and express yourself within No Man’s Sky.
Tempus Fugit had originally been created during a Build competition organised by @djmonkeyuk, where everyone worked from the shared theme “Festive Monolith.”
The Hello Games feature gave me the confidence to keep experimenting, sharing discoveries and exploring just how far we could push the building system.
Looking back, it felt like an important moment—not only for me as a builder, but for glitch building itself and the community surrounding it. It almost felt like Hello Games was saying: 'We see what you are doing, well done—as you were.'

4 DAYS UNTIL NO MAN’S SKY TURNS 10
On January 30, 2020, I first discovered what became known as the Blender Glitch during one of my livestreams.
https://t.co/wNRnjYpbza
Like many glitch-building discoveries, it began with an unexpected interaction inside the building system—something that looked interesting, but still needed a lot of experimentation before we fully understood what it could do.
The technique was then developed further across several other livestreams together with Kdog, now known as @ActionPants777.
We tested different approaches, explored how the technique behaved and gradually worked out how builders could use it more consistently and creatively.
That collaboration is an important part of the story. It remains one of my favourite examples of what made the No Man’s Sky building community so special: someone discovered something strange, others began testing it, and together we turned it into a tool the entire community could use.
