@Factchecke51537@TheSkepticWiz This list is still pretty limited to one fairly small area - I think if the bible made accurate mentions of places like North and South America, Northern Europe or East Asia, that would be a lot harder to explain as it would be beyond the knowledge of people at the time.
@chiguirii@Christo_t_D@cb_doge The fact that trump keeps acting so dismissive when asked about the most infamous child trafficking ring in the world? "The American people need to move on from the whole Epstein thing."
If Elon wants these elite pedophiles prosecuted, he should be calling out Trumps inaction.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes The alternative is that most people can't afford to have kids anymore, and by the time we're older, there won't be anybody to build houses, to fix your cars, to run the healthcare system. It just leads to a declining economy and an elderly population with no one to support them.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes And again, people who had kids in the late 2000s or early 2010s may have been able to afford kids at the time, but the cost of living is rising dramatically which they couldn't have predicted at the time, and may need support from child benefits to stay afloat.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes Okay but life changes, maybe you can afford kids at the time, but then later you lose your job, a partner dies, maybe you become ill and cannot work anymore. Life happens and leaves people in shitty unexpected situations, doesn't mean we should just leave their kids to starve.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes Is your issue with the "full time" part? Okay, I'll say that the majority of people claiming child benefits are in work and contributing to the economy, and aren't just lazy people who have their kids paid for them by others.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes The survey literally states that 78% of child support claimants were in work, so I don't know what you mean. 52% of households claiming child support had both parents in work, and 82% had at least one parent in work.

Take a look at the family circumstances portion of this government survey and see for yourself.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes It's naive to think that every person using social security is just "not working and taking". The majority of people are working full time jobs but can become overwhelmed by the increasing costs of living, something you probably haven't experienced therefore don't understand.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes Do you really think that every working individual can afford layers upon layers of insurance protections? 50% of UK workers are on low wages and are living paycheck to paycheck and still need social security for their kids.
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes But hey, if you'd prefer tax cuts for billionaires as opposed to making sure parents can provide for their kids in unexpected bad circumstances, at the cost of a massive declining birth rates, you go ahead
@Cartermill65675 @DrRebeccaTidy@NotThatHughes I assume you don't really understand the implications of a lower birth rate. A shrinking workforce that leads to less tax income and a stagnating economy, and an aging population who will have their pensions cut because the state can't provide for them anymore.
