The cycle of Tangkhul sponsored violence continues to claim innocent lives.
Two more Kuki civilians were reportedly killed in Kultuh, a Kuki village in Kamjong District, in a pre-dawn attack attributed to NSCN-IM (Eastern Front). Their deaths add to the 12 lives lost over the past few months.

Today another shocking incident happened in Liangmai area when Liangmai civilians went to make pipe water for their village. NSCN IM ZUF Kamson group and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar Meitei militants, thinking they were Kuki civilians, opened fire towards them and one Liangmai civilian was injured in his leg.
In this video, some Liangmai people are spreading false information blaming Mighty Warrior Kuki. But the truth is clear ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ NSCN IM ZUF Kamson group and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar Meitei militants ambushed Kuki civilians and by mistake fired upon their own people.
How are these armed groups moving and ambushing freely in the presence of Kangpokpi SP and Central Forces from Gorkha Regiment? Why is law and order strictly imposed only in Kukiland areas while completely ignoring Liangmai, Tangkhul, NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN IM ZUF Kamson group, and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar Meitei militants?
The truth cannot be hidden forever. Selective law enforcement and silence towards armed groups operating openly is pushing the situation towards more violence and instability. Innocent civilians are paying the price.

This is how Liangmai chief NSCN IM ZUF kamson group and Arambai Tenggol MyammarMeiteiMilitants eating together food in the Liangmai village in Kangpokpi district to burnt the Kharam Vaiphei village.
And how Kangpokpi SP and Central force terminate the Village volunteer and the villagers in Kharam Vaiphei while NSCN IM ZUF kamson group and Arambai Tenggol MyammarMeiteiMilitants freely burning and captured one Kuki civilian.
Regarding their eating together in Liangmai village with the chief and NSCN IM ZUF kamson group and Arambai Tenggol MyammarMeiteiMilitants, there are many things coming up now. They will target Leilon Vaiphei village again by using Kangpokpi SP and Central force especially Gorkha regiment.

#ManipurNews|| The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), South West Sadar Hills, strongly condemns the attack on Kharam Vaiphei village in Kangchup Geljang Subdivision, Kangpokpi District.
It has come to our attention that following the ambush on civilians and the brutal killing of three Kuki-Zo church leaders between Kotlen and Kotjim, tensions between hill tribal communities escalated into violence.
The Kuki community has cooperated with efforts to restore law and order and has welcomed the intervention of state and central forces to bring the perpetrators to justice, including in the case of the six missing Liangmai civilians.
Despite the presence of central forces and a combing operation conducted by the Gorkha Rifles and CRPF units, armed groups allegedly affiliated with ZUF-K led NSCN-IM reportedly burned down several houses in Kuki-Zo villages at Kharam Vaiphei.
We question how, even after suspected individuals connected to the abduction of six Naga civilians were apprehended, security forces failed to prevent a renewed attack on Kuki-Zo villages that resulted in homes being burned and hardships for innocent civilians.
We urge the central forces to explain how the situation resulted in one-sided security arrangements that enabled vandalism and arson to take place.
The KSO holds the central forces responsible for maintaining law and order and expects immediate measures to prevent further escalation and to ensure the safety and security of all civilians.

Kuki Community strongly condemns the selective actions of the Central Forces, whose operations are being carried out only in Kuki-dominated areas while completely ignoring the grave situation in areas such as Senapati and Ukhrul, where innocent Kuki civilians have reportedly been captured and detained by groups associated with certain student volunteers and local organizations. Many of these civilians are ordinary daily wage earners and students who struggle every day merely to support their families and pursue their education.
It is deeply concerning that extensive operations are being conducted based on alleged โmissingโ cases and narratives circulated by organisations such as the United Naga Council, Tangkhul Naga Long, NPO, Senapati District student groups, and armed elements allegedly linked with ZUF Kamson and NSCN-IM. Such actions and narratives are creating fear, division, and instability while the suffering of innocent Kuki civilians continues to be ignored.
The Kuki Community firmly demands the immediate and unconditional release of all innocent Kuki civilians who are reportedly being held without justification. These individuals are not involved in violence or conflict; many are students and ordinary villagers whose only desire is to live peacefully and safely. Any harm inflicted upon them will further deepen tensions and threaten peace and communal harmony in the region.
We call upon the Government of India, concerned authorities, human rights organisations, and security agencies to intervene impartially, ensure the safety of all civilians irrespective of community, and prevent further escalation of violence and hatred. Justice, truth, and humanity must prevail above political narratives and communal interests.

ULTIMATUM AGAINST THE ABERRANT ABDUCTION OF STUDENTS
Kangpokpi, the 17th May, 2026
The Kuki Students' Organisation Sadar Hills (KSO-SH) issues this statement with absolute fury and uncompromising condemnation apropos to the much-hyped press clarification and justification made by the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) over the killing of three Godโs servants. Their concocted narrative of keeping Kuki-Zo civilians as hostages to absolve their crime is baffling and outrightly shameful.
It is an undeniable and deeply disturbing fact that 25 civilians from Taphou Kuki villages were escorted from Senapati on 13th May 2026 by the Officer-in-Charge of Senapati Police Station under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Senapati, purportedly for their safety and protection. In a shocking and indefensible breach of public duty, these unarmed civilians were instead abandoned to assailants and SDSA elements in broad daylight, leading directly to their kidnapping and abduction. Significantly, the abduction occurred less than one kilometre from the Senapati PS and the SPโs office. The hostages were thereafter transported to Karong through Senapati Bazar and past the very gate of the Senapati Police Station, yet there was a complete and inexplicable absence of any intervention or resistance from police personnel at any stage of the incident. Such a grave and blatant dereliction of duty has only intensified the widespread belief among the Kuki-Zo people that certain police officials, including the Officer-in-Charge of Senapati PS and Superintendent of Police, Senapati, acted in active connivance with assailant groups, including SDSA, thereby fundamentally undermining the credibility, neutrality, and integrity of the police force.
At the same time, the Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills (KSO-SH), has consistently stood for the welfare, safety, and educational rights of our students. In good faith, KSO-SH maintained coordination with student bodies from other communities, including SDSA, under a mutual understanding to protect students during times of unrest. SDSA has not only violated that understanding but has directly participated in the abduction of innocent civilians and the orchestration of unrest.
SDSA, while calling itself a student organisation, must be reminded that students are not bargaining tools, or instruments of intimidation. Abducting innocent youths for political and militant agendas is cowardly, barbaric, and utterly indefensible.
KSO-SH will no longer remain silent while innocent civilians and students continue to be held hostage following the brutal killing of three Kuki-Zo Church leaders on 13th May by the proscribed NSCN-IM and its proxy Kamson faction.
Continued silence or inaction from the government, especially the Senapati District Police, will be treated as direct complicity. We further demand the immediate termination of the Officer-in-Charge of Senapati PS and the SP Senapati, within 48 hours, for dereliction of duty and collusion with assailants.
KSO-SH hereby cautions SDSA and UNC to immediately release all 14 hostages, including 3 students. No fabricated narrative or political theatrics will absolve those responsible for these crimes.
If our fellow students along with 11 other civilians are not returned unharmed immediately within 48 hours, KSO-SH will mobilize a relentless, widespread agitation even if weโre to paralyze the status quo to ensure our voices are heard. The safety and dignity of our people and students in particular are entirely non-negotiable.
We will not retreat. We will not back down until justice is served.

Manipur : Three Kuki students Sehminhao Chongloi, Hengunsei Khongsai and Tonggoulen Chongloi are still held hostage among 14 Kuki men abducted from police custody by SDSA & NSCN-IM.
All three students are sole breadwinners for their families.
Hengunsei is currently battling muscular dystrophy and was also recently orphaned by his father , he alone carries the burden of providing for his grieving family while his own health deteriorates in captivity.
Their unlawful detention since 13 May 2026 is a brutal assault on their safety, health, and right to education. Authorities must act without delay, ensure their safe release immediately and jail the perpetrators.
