I say this as a parent who is genuinely in two minds on a social media ban because the risks to our kids are clear but the solutions aren't.
Starmer's announcement is clearly a knee jerk attempt to do something popular as his authority crumbles. That's a dangerous background for making new laws.
@ScotNational If Starmer really wants to protect kids, he would close the borders, investigate the illegal immigrant grooming gangs, and being mass deportations immediately.
@_jcwoodward@AodhAlba@FemaleScotlandV Most people bar my parents and grandparents i speak to are under 30/35.
No the majority of White Scots 16 to 50 support Independence.
Do the Nu Scots support it properly but the majority of native Scots support it.
@_jcwoodward@AodhAlba@FemaleScotlandV People under 50 support Independence. Demographics are in our favor.
Independencedoesn't mean one supports the SNP who don't want independence.
If Rupert wants to abolish Holyrood then Restore will be busted.
Only dying boomers, ultra rangers fans and
@AodhAlba@FemaleScotlandV Thing is only aging boomers want to abolish Holyrood. Yes its full of fruit cakes and degenerates but Scotland is a Country not County.
All Restore need to do is acknowledge Scotland is a country and not a region and all is good.
@FemaleScotlandV The reason iv not joined Restore is because many of them have called for the destruction of our institutions to centralise to London and thats disgusting, so what we help you fight the immigrants then get dominated? Fuck that so much we are an ethnicity too, thats my only reason
I’ve always had the same views about Scotland and patriotism since when I joined Restore. Restore does not seem to discriminate against English people being patriotic, and seems to be about honesty, as well as addressing past silencing and the treatment in particular of the lower classes across Britain as if they were and are last class citizens.
I see Restore as the only way out for the United Kingdom, in terms of the current circumstances, but in no way do I think that should involve silencing aspects of history which affected Scotland.
I do not think it should involve silencing Scottish voices. Scotland has huge swathes of population who are of that forgotten class, many of whom blame Westminster for what has happened, and it is arguably Westminster’s fault.
They have not maintained the peace and security of the Scottish, English, Irish or Welsh and we are at a point in time where these peoples may not exist if changes do not happen.
Left wing who would support indigenes in America and Canada and other new nations, for some reason in Britain seem against indigenes and at odds with their own hard line philosophies.
The Scots may be small in number, but they have a country. It’s a country of people, not some small piece of land which deserves to be dragged around without any input.
They have a view on currently lauded English history when it’s constantly raised to them, especially when it affected them, and if I’m wrong I’ll stand corrected on that quite happily.
It is a nation of a small number of peoples which does lead to it being ignored, but currently the English patriots seem to be protesting about themselves being ignored and sidelined in favour of populations who vastly outnumber Scots and Englishmen.
So I just think there maybe needs to be a degree of empathy and equal treatment, as if Scots actually do inhabit a country.
That often does not seem to be the case. It’s ‘Scotland will do what we tell them’.
And I’m not arguing about what’s best right now. We’re not in an ideal world. But I am arguing about the attitude.
It’s probably not even worth it to be honest.
