‘If and when I’m ready’ would be an apt mantra for rescued black rhino Chamboi. https://t.co/NW8OU4JJQa
Only 14-months old, he already exudes one of his species’ most infamous traits, stubbornness! Fortunately, for his Keepers, it’s short lived, as he doesn’t want to be left behind as he had been when found orphaned and alone. Discover his story and consider adopting Chamboi this #FosterFriday
#SaraBravo#DEP
"He understood that we are the ones who can really help."
Earlier this month, wild-living orphan Barsilinga returned home for help. We believe he’d been speared & showed up to the Ithumba Unit knowing it's where he could find assistance. Watch our teams mobilise to give him urgent veterinary care, surrounded by lots of elephant onlookers!
It's incredible to realise Barsilinga (& many wild elephants before him) knew exactly where to go for help. But why shouldn’t he? From the age of two weeks old, we have provided him with shelter, a family & love. We’ve provided veterinary care, and tended to his physical and emotional needs during his lived life so far. As they say, an say an elephant never forgets!
We are happy to report that Barsilinga joined the dependent orphans for mud bath three days after his treatment. He was in fine form & his wound is healing well. Full story: https://t.co/jh6E290auz
Tina. A dog that will live long in the memory. She didn’t let a life of breeding, neglect and being tied on a chain get her down. Once she found her freedom she fully embraced it.
I thought it would be a lovely tribute if people did something kind in her name. For yourself or someone else. Today or tomorrow.
Get an ice cream. Call an old friend for 10 mins. Watch a sunset. Take your dogs on a new adventure. Go for a surprise Sunday brunch. Give someone a lovely compliment. Something simple and kind.
Tina was always kind and loved others more than herself. A day where people did similar in her name would be just beautiful. Feel free to share any below this video to inspire others.
RIP Tina 🥰🙏
