BADSVAP has today re-launched an important app designed to help tackle abuse across the Belfast area. ‘Haven: Belfast’ is free to download & is aimed at anyone experiencing domestic or sexual abuse within an intimate partner relationship, as well as professionals supporting them.
There is a specific offence for domestic abuse that includes psychological and emotional harm. Coercive and controlling behaviour is a crime. If you report this crime you may be entitled to ‘Special Measures’ in court.

Coercive control may happen gradually in a relationship. The perpetrator may not display this control every day.
The victim may not realise that they are experiencing this abuse.
