Labour Leader of @BrightonHoveCC & Deputy Leader of Labour Group on @LGAcomms | Councillor for Wish Ward | Brightonian | Mixed Heritage | Mum | Views own.
It was good to welcome @Ed_Miliband Secretary of State for Energy Security & Net Zero to #Brighton to showcase:
✅ The best EV charging coverage outside London
✅ Biggest rollout of rooftop solar in our city’s history
✅ Decarbonising our schools & energy system
The last Government cancelled plans to tackle the Croydon bottleneck, causing delays across the network and leaving passengers at Norwood Junction stuck in lift limbo.
Today at PMQs, I raised the case for bringing back the Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme.
CARS could be an absolute game-changer not just for Croydon, but the whole south of England from Bedford to Brighton and everywhere in-between - including an entirely new, bigger station at East Croydon.
Thrilled to see Natasha raising this at the highest levels! 🚂🚂
Really inspiring interesting hour with @BellaSankey this week taking to some of the young women from our Political Futures programme. From sport to the importance of the seafront to needing more women in politics and everything in between.
Brighton are back in an FA Cup Final. 💙🤍
This is huge for our city, and especially for every girl watching the Seagulls at Wembley and knowing football is for them too.
@BellaSankey on @bbcsoutheast cheering on the Seagulls! Bring on Sunday. 🏆
Philip Berman is Labour’s candidate for Goldsmid.
He’s lived in the ward for 13 years with his family, a strong record campaigning for social justice, and will work hard every day for residents.
A local voice. A serious candidate.
Jenrick and Farage celebrating and encouraging someone repeatedly shouting and swearing at a stranger he disagrees with in public is all you need to know about their actual belief in free speech.
Manners maketh the men indeed.
After my daughter died, my son in law dropped my 3 small grandchildren off daily at a school breakfast club so that he could continue to work. They support a wide range of families in so many different ways.
This Reform Cllr really ought to think before she opens her mouth
There was a debate on the future of Britain's energy in the House of Commons today. Not a single Green MP bothered to turn up.
You would think the Greens would care about climate change and the energy transition. Apparently not.
In 2024/25 councils delivered c.10,500 social and affordable homes, 16% of all new affordable housing and the highest annual total recorded since 1991/92.
The higher education watchdog will not appeal after a High Court ruling over its fine against the University of Sussex in a free speech row.

Goldsmid showed up.
Huge turnout yesterday to launch Philip Berman’s campaign, with @peterkyle and @BellaSankey joining members and residents to get things moving.
The energy was real.
The choice is clear.
Goldsmid deserves Philip Berman. 🌹
