@BopheloRudolph@miwayinsurance Do not make this mistake. Stay away from MiWay. My fiance bumped her car about 1 year ago and MiWay have been absolutely useless. Less than useless, damaging.
@geordinhl Hello Mr Mayor, I purchased a house, moved in 9 months later, realised there was meter tampering by the previous owner and reported the matter. I’m getting penalised, which is not very conducive for reporting meter tampering.
You’re still my favourite mayor, and the outcome of this won’t affect my opinion on that (just kidding, voting for a different party if it is not resolved (kidding again, still voting DA))
I purchased the house in April/May 2022 and moved in December 2022. I reported meter tampering in January 2023 and half of my electricity purchased went towards the fine from April 2024, more than a year after reporting the matter
So there are no repercussions for them, just me. I could have just purchased a low amount of elec each month, and the tampering would not have been picked up, but doing the right thing bit me in the bum
It was confirmed by the inspector that the tampering was not done by me. I’m just struggling why it would make sense for anyone to report these matters if you get penalised anyway. The person who owned the home before me is currently in another country
I purchased the house in 2022 and the last time electricity was purchased was December 2020. I felt like I did the right thing by reporting the matter, but I was slapped with a R7k fine. Is there no incentive for homeowners to report meter tampering?
@100trillionUSD You are by far the most calming and consistent person in the crypto space (even during the bear market). Thanks for everything you’ve done
