Bellevue, our crews have made progress this summer! These photos highlight subgrade preparation and concrete placement on the northbound lane of 36th Street. Construction is expected to continue through the fall, with project completion anticipated in late fall 2026.
Hey Bellevue! Our crews are back at work for the season. Last week, they began removing existing utility vaults and installing new storm sewer pipe at the north end of the project.

Hey Bellevue! We have entered Phase Two of the 36thSt Improvement Project.
For the next couple of months, crews will wrap up current work and add temporary paving on side roads and driveways to prepare for the winter shutdown.
In the second photo, fill material is being placed and compacted for the new northbound lane on 36th Street, stretching from Schneekloth to Platteview roads.

Earlier this week, traffic shifted to the new pavement on 36th St. from Platteview Rd. to Birchwood Dr. Segments of Schneekloth Rd. and Spring Blvd. just east of 36th St. are now closed through November.
For the next couple of months, crews will continue working on grading, installing storm sewers and paving the southbound lanes of 36th Street in the area of Platteview Road to Tammy Street.
Last week the contractor placed temporary pavement north of Platteview Road on 36th Street to allow traffic shifts for construction of additional street improvements.
Traffic Update⚠️ Starting Wednesday, August 9th at 9 AM, the intersection of 36th Street and Capehart Road will have various lane and turn restrictions implemented. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed August 31st.
⚠️Construction crews will be working throughout the project corridor this week as they finish up miscellaneous activities. Motorists are reminded to slow down, proceed with caution and to buckle up!

TRAFFIC UPDATE⚠️
Starting Monday, October 4th at 9 AM, traffic on 36th Street, between Bline Avenue and Leawood Drive, will be shifted to the new east lanes. In addition to the traffic switch, the intersections of Lockbourne Drive and Granada Parkway will also be reopened.
The Bellevue Public Works Department has announced that Granada Parkway, at 36th Street, will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, July 25, 2022, at 9am. This closure is anticipated to last into the fall.
