Chem has no alternative as H is needed for reaction. Projected amount may differ: Biomasse use 📈may mean H 📉. CCU = very high H

@wiedergold @ArneLutsch @RWE_AG @Equinor Not really. #hydrogen is needed for climate neutrality but we are also experiencing a hydrogen hype. Many applications are oversold. Direct electrification often better.
With that being said, rising amounts of #hydrogen are needed for climate neutral steel and basic chemicals.

@k_stukenberg Gefahr liegt eher in "hydrogen-ready" story. Das sind Dinge, die theoretisch mit #Wasserstoff laufen könnten, aber praktisch mit Erdgas betrieben werden. Sofern Erdgas noch genutzt wird, soll es immer mit #CCS sein, ob nach der Industrieanlage oder vor ihr bei H2 Herstellung.
