If I were given the authority of Ahmadu Bello over Northern Nigeria today, I would not spend my first week preaching unity. I would implement this 20-point plan, which I believe can transform Northern Nigeria into a superpower.

My doctrine would be simple:

The North must stop being a geography of potential and become a machinery of production.

That is what Sardauna understood in his own time. He did not merely talk about northern pride. He built institutions: development corporations, banks, schools, media houses, industries, and administrative pipelines.

If I were Sardauna today, I would follow this exact 20-point action plan to build the second machinery of the North.

At the 8th Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly held in Uzbekistan, I joined the Honourable Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, in high-level strategic engagements with global decision-makers including the GEF CEO, FAO Deputy Director-General, the Head of UNEP, World Bank team, UNIDO and UNDP alongside the Heads of EHCON, the Great Green Wall, FRIN, National Park Service, and NEWMAP.

The discussions focused on strengthening environmental governance architecture, unlocking sustainable climate financing, and advancing coordinated action on climate resilience and ecosystem restoration in line with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
