@Abramjee @DWS_RSA Are the only ways to manage the weeds. The best thing would be to push DWS and local water managers to ensure WWTW are compliant and not pushing nutrients into the dams which feed the weeds

@Abramjee @DWS_RSA The plant in the video is water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes), which is different to water hyacinth (Pontederia crassipes) - although both can be found there.

Manual removal DOES NOT WORK in large eutrophic dams. It’s just a sinkhole for money. Biocontrol and nutrient management

I really don’t understand the fascination with fireworks. I totally get that people, especially now, need any glimmer of joy they can find. But it’s not fair to do so at the expense of the many animals, such as my dog, who is currently medicated but still terrified. It’s not ok.
