When I go online, this fitness stuff looks so complicated. The most intricate, complicated, fanciest, flashiest movements get all the attention.
But in reality, this fitness stuff is so simple. You don't need flashier movements, you need to move like your body was supposed to. You don't need more tactical bands and transverse, lateral, inverted, tri-planar, sagittal terrestrial movements... You need to squat better.
The less complicated and simpler the workouts and movements, usually the better. You get out of it what you put in, not what you programmed.
THIS Saturday (June 13th)

I got tired of talking about it, but not being about it.
Finally exited the matrix.
I got an old school flip phone, calls and texts only.
The goal is to be more efficient with attention and more present.
To stay grounded in reality...
Sharing this to say, you're not alone.
Attention @crossfit people. When doing "Murph" tomorrow, it's more impressive to do HALF Murph in an hour with GOOD reps than doing the whole workout in 45 min with partial ROM. Range of Motion when testing benchmarks should be #1 priority. Intensity is a skill accrued over time.
@kbrunnerdude@CrossFit I hear you. This is why I say intensity is a skill. The argument for kipping is simply intensity.
You should have to earn the kipping pull up. Too many people do it in the reverse order.
We do workouts all the time where pull ups must be strict. This is just not one of them.
If you're in the area... Come to Krypton tomorrow morning and do "Murph" with us to remember Memorial Day.
Clock starts at 6am,7am,8am,9am. I'll start at 6. Could also bring a partner and split the work!
"Murph"
Complete for time 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run.
@bsdyork It's obvious to anyone with eyes that some of these people (maybe lots) are clearly "supplementing" with SOMETHING. But still, not a good argument against my point. This type of post just gets attention and that's it.
Lots of people are looking for "specific plans" for everything from sports to military to firefighters, etc.
That’s WHY CrossFit was made in the first place. I guarantee you that someone who has done crossfit (well/right) for a long time (10+ years) can hop into ANY general fitness test and be top 90th percentile of any group.
CF works because it creates a broad and general fitness that, if you have, THEN you can specialize in whatever you may do and you'll be better than the rest for it. Like the base of the pyramid, if the base is more broad you can build it higher…
It's not the special program you need it's the consistency and broad general fitness @CrossFit produces. I don't know why more don't see it… the fact that it works is so obvious to anyone with eyes to see. (Or ears cause they have to hear about it 😁)
@HoltzRice88 This is a good thing to think about. Was it the people or was it the methodology? Why can some people (lots who do it well) really "get it" and see tremendous results, while others work really hard but seem to get nowhere. (hint: think kitchen, consistency, discipline)
The most dangerous lie is told to young men today is that you should be comfortable. comfort is not peace, comfort is the day you stopped growing and started rotting from the inside. i watch guys my age building lives around the elimination of discomfort, soft beds, good wifi, same restaurant, same friends, same routine, same joke, and they think they are alive. a man who is comfortable is a man who has decided that he is enough as he is, and no god, no ancient text, no prophet, no father worth listening to has ever said that. every sacred word ever spoken said endure. endure. endure...
I’m hearing lots of conflicting opinions on QF…
I don’t know why I have to say this, but…
Please read highlighted.
1. You need a video if you are going to be in a spot to move to the next level. Top 2000 for men and women. Top 400 age groups (older) and top 300 age groups youngere. And anyone kind of close (could backfill) could be lots of people…
2. You also have to prove you did it starting Thursday at 3pm eastern. Don’t leave it in CF hands and play the victim. They could ask anyone in a spot for a video. Yes, people will probably cheat. It’s unfortunate. Don’t be that person. @hillerfit2.0 will be out there doing his job.
Now you know.
Thanks, have fun out there.
