BREAKING: The Sudanese migrant arrested over the stabbing in Belfast was given leave to remain in September 2023 after claiming asylum in February of that year.

He travelled from Paris to Dublin, before boarding a bus from the Irish capital to Belfast.

He immediately claimed asylum.
