@Praise53148244@Bungle_Bungles@adamkeys_ I have no idea, but we knew about Arsenal's interest in Rice as early as December, so there was a lot of ground work put in to get the deal done.
@Praise53148244@Bungle_Bungles@adamkeys_ So you think ยฃ100m transfers, probably months of talking to West Ham, Rice and his representatives, back and forth over final fees, add ons, wages, bonuses, agents fees ect just happen overnight
@iamgaurav_92@DougieCritchley Fair. I disagree with you on that one. I'd be very surprised if they didn't let Edu do any business other than what we did.
@iamgaurav_92@DougieCritchley Absolutely prove you're good at sales, but I doubt very much that Arteta would have been happy to agree to/sanction the departures of ESR, Nelson and Vieira if he didn't have some assurance/promise that they would be replaced. Which they weren't.
@iamgaurav_92@DougieCritchley I'm not blaming Edu per se, I'm just giving my opinion that this was our weakest summer recruitment wise. The fact we were scrambling on deadline day to sign Sterling and Neto kind of backs that up.
@bennyrogers188@adamkeys_ This is probably the best response I've seen so far. Anyone trying to discredit the work he's done can fuck right off. Can Arsenal upgrade? Of course. Was Edu a big part of the rise we've seen over the last 3-4 years? Absolutely.
@Bungle_Bungles@adamkeys_ It is literally his remit as SD to conduct and finalise transfers. To suggest he didn't have much to do when negotiating a ยฃ100m+ transfer is ridiculous.
