@LizStroudLib@DGDistrict58@ZonesOfReg@socialthinking I just listened to the podcast you were on with Shannon McClintok Miller. I am looking to incorporate more SEL activities into library for next school year. Thanks for sharing some great ideas!
Having fun with STEM challenges! 2nd grade learned about clean energy and then were challenged to build a working water wheel. 3rd grade researched spiders and the various types of webs. They were then challenged to build a web that insects could not escape. 💧🕷️🕸️
The author Jacqueline Davies of the CV Read Aloud “Lemonade War” visited Leola Elementary this week. Students had fun learning the process of writing a book.
Congratulations to the Reading Olympics team named Awesome Sauce! Students competed yesterday at IU13 against 15 other schools in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. The team was made up of 4th and 5th graders who read 25 books and then competed quiz bowl style. 📚❤️

@ManningTechTalk@brainpop For this movie I created it is to go along with a video on birds. Would be nice if we had access to a blank movie template. This was my first attempt at trying a movie.
Using BrainPop’s Make-a-Movie tool I created a movie to use as a presentation to students to encourage them to make a movie about a topic they researched. I never realized all the creative ways you could use BrainPop! @brainpop
The CV librarians current and retired went to the newly built Lancaster Public Library for a tour. I was impressed! Reminded me of contemporary libraries found in Europe. ❤️📚
Another great feature on Brain Pop to try out with students is Creative Coding! I am planning on using this to teach digital citizenship skills. @brainpop
Had a fun time at ISTE Live 23 in Philadelphia! Lots of great ideas looking forward to implementing this next school year. #istelive23#techconference#Robotics
5th graders researched a planet, created a map of space, then coded their Sphero and iRoot robots to blast off from earth to circle their planet and back. #robots 🌎🪐🚀
