"The timing of that interview is particularly disappointing because it undermines the situation Ruben Amorim was trying to address.

"Amorim had made a statement by dropping both Rashford and Garnacho, and the very next day, they trained exceptionally well.

"Amorim likely saw this as a positive response – a good handling of the situation, but then Rashford calls in sick on Monday, misses training, and follows it up with an interview on Tuesday saying he's ready for a new challenge.

"Now, if this club means as much to him as he claims – if it's his everything, his heart, his soul, you’d expect him to prove that to his manager. You'd expect him to show, ‘I’m here to fight for this. This is my life.’
