@trashyhonky@Fistocrat Mate that’s a bit ironic considering YOU posted a carefully selected photo to “prove me wrong” meanwhile your random photo talking about urbanism proved MY point
@ponz01anda@E1b1bzoomer Exactly, they don't need to already live freely, richer than europeans, have south asian servants
the arabs in europe are largely rejected by other states in the gulf, and certainly would have no path to citizenship in Saudi or UAE
@viexonx@immyonboard Not my proudest moment but I got a very expensive ticket one time for an open container, obviously against the rules, but I'm not bothering anyone meanwhile people who scream or have knives or vape or play loud music can go about their business unmolested
@immyonboard I consider myself a conscientious objector (Vic), but if you don't think your trip is worth 50 cents you're just taking the piss, and this is why I don't support free fares unfortunately
@paragon275@TwinTurboCe1ica Because Australians live in some of the biggest houses in the world, and have big backyards. While HK live in pretty small apartments in massive high rises
I'm a firm believer in density, but the median Australian would not live in the way the median Hong Konger does
@HelenLannister@thamoonman_ I think the internet is the great equaliser. A kid growing up now in Broken Hill has access to the exact same information as someone growing up in Mosman
Obviously how they use that information, that would probably be different at a population level
@thamoonman_ I would say that metro and rural people are ignorant in different ways, but rural people are aware of what they don't know.
A lot of metro people will consider themselves enlightened and 'above' rural people, but they're really not sophisticated, educate or worldly at all
