On 8 June 2025, the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. @SingoeiAKorir , officially launched the Honorary Consulate of Kenya in Innsbruck, Tyrol. Today, 24 September 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting the Honorary Consul, Mr. Georg Hofherr, on a courtesy call to the Embassy in Vienna.

Honorary Consuls are citizens of host countries who freely deploy their professional, political, and social networks to strengthen bilateral relations. They are bridge-builders of trade, culture, and friendship. Mr. Hofherr, a distinguished Austrian entrepreneur with active business interests in Kenya—including real estate and cosmetics—is one such partner.

Our discussions touched on:
a) Changing outdated narratives about Africa, highlighting a vibrant, urbanizing, and industrializing continent of immense potential.

b) Linking Kenya’s highly skilled workforce to quality jobs at home and abroad.

c) Building sustainable businesses that honor culture and protect the environment.

In the true spirit of Harambee—“Let us all pull together”—the @KenyaEmbVienna looks forward to working closely with our Honorary Consulate in Innsbruck to advance Kenya’s nation-building and global engagement.

Held talks with King Letsie III of Lesotho, State House Nairobi.

We affirmed the strong and cordial relations between our two nations, and deliberated on ways of enhancing them.

Consequently, we directed our Foreign ministers to convene the Joint Commission on Cooperation to explore more areas of collaboration.

We also discussed school feeding programmes in Kenya and Lesotho, and expressed satisfaction with the impact they have had in education, including boosting school attendance, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing health and nutrition.
