Former South African President 🇿🇦 Thabo Mbeki said Joseph Kabila lied to him about his involvement with M23. He also claimed that South African soldiers who died in eastern Congo did so because Kabila was sharing South African intelligence with the rebels.

But when Félix Tshisekedi accused Kabila of being part of the rebel movement, the South African government turned a blind eye, sheltered Kabila in South Africa, and later in Eswatini.

Kabila must be held accountable for his alleged role in the conflict. If the evidence proves his involvement in war crimes, he should be arrested and brought to justice, alongside his ally Paul Kagame.
