So many athletes are caught in this forever cycle of one step forward two steps back due to injury π€, excessive fatigue π₯± or just psychological burnout.
The greatest limiter is not genetics π§¬, it's not even time β³. It's ego. Trying to do more than your body is ready for.
Half a step forward, hang out for a while, then another half step beats one step forward, two steps back Every. Single. Time.
Congratulations to the CHSXC runners

Most things are relative.
An example from athletics:
-If you are used to running 80 miles per week, 50 seems like a break!
-If you are used to running 30 miles per week, 50 is a recipe for overtraining & injury!
Accept where you are at. Don't get lost comparing to others.
As an athlete, you can't reach your full potential without failing many times. Without failing, you can't learn. And without learning, you can't improve.
Want to PR in your next meet?
Repeat one word to yourself...
"Compete!"
Compete - to the best of your ability - and the times will take care of themselves.
