We have allocated KSh784 billion, representing 30 per cent of the budget, to education in the current financial year because it is one of our key priorities.

Additionally, we have streamlined the Competency-Based Education and Training system, hired 100,000 teachers, with an extra 20,000 to be recruited later this year, and built 23,000 classrooms.

We are also refining the higher education funding model through new legislation, currently before Parliament, to ensure that every learner who goes to university, technical college or Kenya Medical Training College is fully funded.

Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to education and the opportunity to realise their full potential.
