Just sent off a commissioned piece to Charleston, South Carolina. Loved the opportunity to paint this city that’s filled with so much culture and charm. @ Charleston, South Carolina https://t.co/j821Rkugcc
ELLIOTT BAY. It's fun playing with the details in pieces like this. Among other things, I highlighted the Seattle stadiums in this piece because of the role they play making Seattle what it is.

I love these closeups of this piece of Georgetown Lake in Montana. I love it when I have the opportunity to highlight the natural beauty of a place like this.

To me this piece illustrates the many different levels of "loving your place." You can love your city as a whole, but so many people also have that a special love for the neighborhood they call home.

Day 62, 3.3.2019: Today I wanted to create a piece that portrayed a sense of calm. I knew it was going to be simplistic in composition, using softer color tones I didn’t have to over work the piece. I hope everyone has a great week! -ben
Join us for First Friday tonight! We'll be open until 8pm! We've created a really cool new Inspiration 365 wall (see our last post) that's worth checking out!

Working on this piece of Butte, Montana today. This piece was commissioned by the same collector of the Georgetown Lake piece I shared in my stories a few days ago. My mom grew up in Butte, so working on this piece holds special significance for me.
Day 57, 2.26.2019: This piece was inspired by passion. The movement of the paint through the complexity of layers combines to create a poetic yet fierce melding of colors and composition. I love this piece! -ben

NEWFOUNDLAND. I created this piece for a family who has origins in this beautiful Canadian province. It now hangs in their home in Nevada and allows them to feel that connection to the cool Canadian air whenever they need it.

Day 53, 2.22.2019: I loved creating this piece today because the focus was on shape. Shape is one of the greatest visuals (in my mind) that we are aware of. It’s endless!!! -ben

Day 52
2.21.2019
I love the depth in this piece, when I finished it I allowed myself to get lost in it. I found myself on an expedition hiking through the mountains, along the rivers, and breathing the crisp clean mountain air. It was a great little mental vacay! -ben
FLORENCE, ITALY. I'll never tire of painting Florence. Like so many Gonzaga graduates, I spent a year studying in Florence. It was a transformational experience, to say the least. Leave a comment with your favorite memory from Gonzaga-in-Florence!

Day 51, 2.20.2019: Balance, composition, and tone; to me it’s amazing the visuals that can be created from these three. I find myself just staring at this piece. More pieces in this series to come over the next few days! -ben

PRAGUE. This piece was commissioned by a someone with a long held love of art. So much so that they asked that I work the name of a famous Czech artist into the piece. Can you spot it?

Day 50, 2.19.2019: I’m enamored with these compositions. For me it started with the depths of nature, but I’m also realizing there are many different interpretations to these pieces. It’s life, it’s relationships, it’s love... so many perspectives! -ben

Day 49, 2.18.2019:This piece was inspired from a perspective I have from across the north fork of the Coeur d’ Alene river. There’s such depth in the hills! Looking forward to river floating this summer! -ben

Day 47, 2.16.2019: This piece came from out of the blue and in person the pearlescent monochrome layers in this piece brings to life the textures and movement throughout the piece, it just shines! -ben
