Loss of mobility, loss of power, and loss of agility were the real villains on display Friday night. Those are the things we should be fighting against, not athletes decades younger than ourselves.
36 hours later and I’m still processing the Tyson v Paul fight. I wanted a Tyson victory, but admit Jake handled himself w/ class in the last round.
The hardest part of the spectacle was the display of how differently athletes 30 years apart MOVE.
A lot of us were hopeful after clips of Mike pummeling the pads, but his lack of agility and stiffer movement repertoire defined the night.
It was a wake-up call for us aging athletes. I cringe when I catch myself moving under the same age-related constraints.
@Bray_Brayyy Certainly less than 50% accounting for worldwide obesity/overweight stats, and tack on ~ 30% for the ends of the age spectrum (>40, <10), plus account for poor fitness - I’d agree sub-10% is a high confidence. I bet it’s more like 1% though.
