When we had the idea for Illinois Speedweek several years ago, we felt STRONGLY that if you put this group of cars together on tracks that were all 60-90 minutes apart at most, this area of the country (and those watching around the world) would embrace it. We finally got the weather to support it this year, and I really think we were right. I KNOW I'm biased ... I'm from here, but what a week it's been. Last night an entire caravan of 50-plus race cars, and 100-plus campers picked up and rolled only 47 miles down the road to the next race that will no doubt be packed out with people tonight too. This is a special area for late models, and it's been a special week. Let's close it out strong!!!!!
