@BeRock21 Or does that tell you that he needs to lower his LA to the opposite field because he doesn't have the juice that way. Pull with power and hit it hard and flat to the opposite field. That can up his OBP% and feed him more pitches to elevate to the pull side.

@BeRock21 The barrel will always move upward. The hands work slightly down and through. It's the same thing essentially, depending on what you are looking at and what point prior to contact. Hands vs barrel. It depends on the focus.

@BeRock21 So according to that sample it looks like swing and miss % on a slider is literally 2x the amount of a fastball. But early count G hack fastballs vs two strike swing sliders also changes those stats. It can get so granular if you wanted

@BeRock21 @JLaws_29 You're right. Average LA doesn't really give you much to learn from when each pitch and count is going to change how a hitter attacks the ball. Resulting in various LA's from the intent of the swing. if you could group all inside fastballs on advantage counts then you may have it

@BeRock21 @JLaws_29 Like your idea but I would focus on percentage of exit velocities over 90mph first, rather than launch angle of those balls. If you can't square it up then the LA doesn't mean anything. You can have a perfect LA with low EV and it's a fly ball. See what I mean?

@kreeves7 Unless it was facing a righty BP thrower and then a lefty starter I understand that. But I don't play against the pitcher I play against the ball. Doesn't matter who is throwing it.
