Louis Mosley, head of UK and Europe at Palantir Technologies, is challenged on #PoliticsLive by Faiza Shaheen of Tax Justice UK over the company’s contract with the NHS and its use of patient data

NHS England chief exec Amanda Pritchard appeared before @CommonsHealth this morning and told MPs that the Federated Data Platform, which is powered by @PalantirTech, is “already paying back” and improving productivity across the NHS. 1/🧵
Great report from @24tvua , detailing @PalantirTech ’s work supporting the government of #Ukraine since the start of the war.
The article is in Ukrainian, so I’ve pulled out key parts, translated. 1/🧵

We rarely get to talk about work @PalantirTech does for defence organisations, so I was proud to see @DefenceHQ disclose the existence of #Palantir -backed Nordic Warden yesterday.
As @10DowningStreet says, this “cutting-edge technology” is helping @NATO and @JEFnations to protect the Baltic Sea from Russian sabotage.

Bruno Botelho, Deputy COO & Digital Operations Director at @ChelwestFT, speaking at #DevCon1 about how #Palantir software is empowering @NHSEngland staff to improve patient care, facilitating earlier appointments for suspected cancer cases, two days sooner on average.
#Palantir is proud to support a connected @NHSEngland through the delivery of the NHS Federated Data Platform. The software is already enabling Trusts to treat an average of 114 additional patients every month. Watch the video to discover how.
The NHS Federated Data Platform is revolutionising healthcare! 🌟

There’s lots written about @PalantirTech work with the #NHS but if you want to understand what it’s actually about, look no further than this animation.
The word federated might sound like jargon, but it’s the key - it means every NHS hospital has its own instance of #palantir software. Each individual hospital is in complete control - the hospital decides how the software is used and how to manage the information the hospital holds.
#NHS hospitals use @PalantirTech to bring together information from their many different IT systems, so their staff can make better informed decisions about patient care.
Because they are using the same kind of software, it’s also secure and simple for them to share information with other hospitals. That might be to get an individual patient treated sooner. Or it might be to support preventative care by enabling an Integrated Care Board to better understand of health trends across a local area.
However #NHS hospitals choose to use and share this information, privacy and security are protected by technology honed over the 20 years @PalantirTech has spent supporting many of the world’s most critical organisations to manage their most sensitive data.

Credit to @arny_trezzi for the spot, but this is far from all the benefits the #NHS is seeing from @PalantirTech. Just for example… (1/6)

Hear Dr. Jon Cort, Executive Chief Digital Officer and Consultant at @royalhospital, discuss the impact of the @NHSEngland Federated Data Platform, which brings together operational data across the system to improve care and reduce the administrative burden on staff.
“It’s not just 'What does the Federated Data Platform do?' It’s what it gives you sight of to explore, and then be able to improve. It gives me the opportunity for my subject matter experts to look at the reality of the situation in front of them.”
We are proud to support NHS professionals, like Dr. Cort and his team. Watch the full recording of the panel hosted by @TheKingsFund: https://t.co/cVj0Jxj5Hf
We are proud to support @NHSEngland's Federated Data Platform (FDP), underpinned by Foundry, to improve patient care by streamlining access to vital services and reducing the administrative burden on NHS staff.
Patients deserve to know how our software works, how it’s helping them, and the robust privacy and security controls in place.

Grateful to the @PatientsAssoc for this rigorous, informed and accessible guide to #PLTR software and the ways in which it is used by the #NHS

Today, we have published our guide to Palantir’s Foundry software, developed in partnership with patients. It addresses the key issues patients raised with us about how Foundry works, and how the software manages and uses patient data.

Alex Karp speaks about Palantir, software and the U.S. on Real Time with @BillMaher: “No other place does it at our scale, with our diversity, and different kinds of people and different kinds of thought... No one in this country cares how crazy you are if you deliver.”

Which will help consign to history stories like the heart-breaking one told by the PM yesterday:
a couple whose two year-old needed complex heart surgery, who had to provide their child’s history again and again and again because the data wasnt joined up and readily available to doctors and nurses.

The positive, early signs: helping NHS staff make better use of operating theatres and speed up the discharge of recovered patients.
Our goal: enable data to flow quickly and securely where it needs to, protecting security, respecting privacy, and transforming patient care.
The FDP will enable the NHS to become the world’s first truly connected healthcare system.

A welcome #NHS intervention from the Govt yesterday. Decades of chronic underinvestment in technology and facilities has led to flatlining productivity across #NHS.
As @wesstreeting put it, “it’s been a bit like British Airways employing lots of pilots, but not giving them planes to fly” (🧵1/6)

It’s easy for Govts to argue their predecessors spent too little.
So credit to this Govt for making a more serious argument about “the vicious cycle where day-to-day spending balloons out of control because we have failed to invest in the estate and the kit that staff need” (@wesstreeting again).

I’m very proud that @PalantirTech is a part of the solution via the Federated Data Platform, and grateful that the #DarziReport highlighted both the FDP’s “great promise” and that it’s “started to show some impact locally” (see p.104).
Yet we have only just gotten started. (4/6)
