Now that I can talk about it, I wrote this! Super stoked to have two trailers I wrote/worked on debut at @thegameawards 2 years in a row now. Let’s keep this streak rolling babyyyyy
From Striking Distance Studios and the creators of Dead Space, comes The Callisto Protocol – a terrifying, story-driven, survival horror game set in a prison colony on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto. Coming 2022. #CallistoTheGame
Such a massive chapter of my gaming life for the last decade. A lot of fun, some excellent story telling and soooo many attempts at explaining to friends what the hell is going on after they agreed to play it with me.
@PatrickLenton Hey, it works for the Swiss guard! They get to wear those fabulous frocks around the Vatican and the Catholics don’t make a peep.
Pride is the next logical step.
Imagine being so bad at comedy, you get upstaged by a silent audience member.
Imagine losing an argument to an imaginary heckler.
Imagine a person doing absolutely nothing for 2 minutes and still completely owning you.
Imagine posting evidence of this own your own socials.
@PatrickLenton I say let people post whatever dumb, ignorant opinion they want…
All I ask in return is that whenever they’re go out, they have to wear a shirt featuring their worst tweets.
@Nicole66640666@shujaxhaider I think if you watched that whole season and didn’t see any acknowledgement Robby’s unacceptable behaviour, then maybe the problem lies with an inability to understand media on both a surface and subtextual level 🤷♂️
@Cromwelp Reactions to this thread also highlight for me how many gamers seem uncomfortable with viewing the medium with the complexity it deserves. What is this pressure for every game to either support the weight of astronomical hype or be doomed to become “Concord 3.0 loll”.
HBO boss Casey Bloys has discussed the "serious security" around its Harry Potter TV series, in the wake of death threats sent to Snape actor Paapa Essiedu. https://t.co/1ccnCD71Cq
We live in world where banks are run by the greedy, governments are led by criminals and our defenders and protectors curb stomp the most fundamental human rights…
So sure, why not buy our intelligence from this dumb asshole?
This man is proposing to do with the sum total of published human knowledge what capitalism does with everything: steal it and then build enclosures around it for profit.
That said, the negativity around Marathon should be studied. There’s such an unusual trend now of wishing failure on a game for zero reason beyond players not thinking they’ll like it? It doesn’t even seem ideological at this point, just pure knee jerk rejection?
Have been really enjoying Marathons, more than I thought I would. What it lacks in the survival immersion of ARC, it somehow has balanced out in the fun, simple playability of it. I bounce of Exfil games hard sometimes because of the Loot Loss, but Marathon has defied that for me
my Marathon take is that it is really good but really hard and really, really going to be needed to play with a team you know to get very far
that's fine! but I think you're definitely going to see it be audience-limiting, and current players may not retain the patience
