This. Once lockdown is over, please consider ditching combustion engines, switching to EV, PT or AT, and together we’ll create this sustainable, peaceful world we all aspire to.
@nashthomas The number of birds in our garden has increased very noticeably and our Dunedin city center neighbours have also commented on this - from a safe distance 😄
And the quiet from lack of traffic has been a revelation- so less stressful- had not realise how much ambient noise we had
@GeorgeKCampbell Because with a left city council, a Green regional councillor chair of transport, and two Green MPs, Wellingtonians have clearly showed they want a tunnel with more cars to an expanding airport?
@RebeccaJEmm Wellington, a city massively left and Green leaning at each administrative level (local, regional and national) ... and an airport expanding, with soon a brand new highway puking its cars through it.
Why still vote really?
12% was the amount of Wellingtonians satisfied with WCC in 2022.
12% is the rate increase Wellingtonians are faced with.
10% is Barbara McKerrow's payrise.
No shade of decency.
Here is WCC in 2023: Lamps falling from posts, private data leaks, budgets blowouts ... yet not a single apology.
And now this, just when rates are exploding.
An utter disgrace.

@nashthomas@paulebruce So GWRC and WCC *could* put a lid on airport's carbon emissions? So why you, our Green mayor and two Green MPs haven't done it yet?
So embarrassing really.
@nashthomas What about a strategy to promote actively working from home, reducing transport strain, and allowing offices buildings to be repurposed in homes? What about working actively against the expansion of the airport to *not* create more traffic to it?
@KatrinaZBWgtn Surely thousands of cars less on the road is a good thing now? Surely there is a new world to invent, less centralised? I say we are not going far enough with working from home, and saving some businesses is not a good enough reason to go back the old ways.
@ScoopWellington Last time a Green mayor went to Asia with a business delegation, we ended up with Shelly Bay and an airport expansion. Can't wait to see what this one brings.
Hi @WgtnCC. Can you please let me know when the 2023 edition of the Residents Monitoring Survey will be released? It was released early June in 2022. Many thanks.
