On Friday the 8th of May, we met with our local researchers from Kyllkay for a training session on our methodologies, including the walk‑and‑talk method and focus groups with children and youth.

The team is almost ready to begin data generation, and we couldn’t be more excited to work with such a warm, thoughtful, and brilliant group. After a long and productive session, we shared a delicious traditional food from Cotacachi, Ecuador, "carnes coloradas".

WHiSE 2.0 will create new knowledge on the harm reduction approaches and strategies desired and used by Indigenous people who use substances, including STBBI and substance use rates in Thunder Bay, Sudbury, and Sault Ste Marie, using a questionnaire.
Claire Lin is an MPH student at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and is passionate about destigmatizing sexuality, addressing systemic injustice, and empowering people to exercise their sexual agency and rights.
