🌟Week 10!🌟
This is the final week of these EP releases - 20 tracks, 53 minutes of music. I’m so proud of all this work. Those who listened and are listening, thank you. Finally finishing these tracks, some of which have been literal years in the “draft bin”, has felt amazing.
A symptom of ADHD is a feeling of abandonment when people don’t actively reach out to you, and this is certainly an emotion I have dealt with time and time again. This is something that becomes especially hard when you yourself cannot organise to reach out to them.
Straight Crushin’ is a country rocker that looks at the eternal dilemma of having a crush on your obviously straight same gender friend! Love how this one belts out.
I took that anxiety and paired it with the possible future of an environmental apocalypse, from the perspective of those left in the rubble. I was lucky enough to have the amazing ADAM HUNT produce on this one, lift it up to a whole new Pop Punk sheen. Thank you so much Adam!
Encounter is an imagined soundtrack to an alien chase scene in an unmade movie. Are we chasing the aliens?? I guess so. One of those groves that you can watch the lines on the tarmac speed by from your car window to.
This marks two months of throwing work out into the gaping maw of “the online worldwide interconnected computer network”. I’m really enjoying that friends and family have been listening and loving the music.

The delivery I give on the core vocal is harsh, and lonely. The leading thought here is around the rage I feel around the needless and cruel containment of refugees in Australia. It’s the only emotion I feel when I think of those waiting for their place. Which should be here.
“Daydream” is an instrumental I could never get words to fit with. Last week I took the session out and the words just flowed out. Its in the tradition of Beatles songs like “I’m so tired” with loose half rhymes and a lazy delivery, but backed up with some fun harmonies.
🎖Lucky Week 7 of weekly music ! 🎖
Both these songs deal with similar struggles with feelings of inadequacy. Legitimate or not, the feeling can be isolating.

“I’m still waiting” is a song that has been with me for years, it feels great to finally have a final, finished recording of it. This song is about being a ghost in your own life. When You disconnect from those around you and cannot find a way to get back to them.
“Is It Really Fine ?” Was written during the gay marriage plebiscite. It focuses in on the anger of putting a question like this to the public. People discussing if being gay really was “human”. Fuck that question.

“Tell Me Where It Hurts” is an instrumental using sampled guitar. I recorded it about 3 maybe 4 years ago. I wanted to write lyrics to it, but I could never get anything to stick. I Really like the glassiness of the sound.

A Certain Piece of Mind is an electronic pop track. A conversation with myself, expressing frustration at the feeling of plateauing. The understated vocal lead gives way to an aggressive and loose guitar line, an expression of that tense energy.

I Don’t Want Any Part Of This is a texture lead Dance track that takes a lot of its sonic and emotional content from Andrei Tarkovsky films. Water like synths, echoing reverbs, pipe organs, pleading phrases breaking down and blending.
