Congratulations to our Land Evaluation and Forestry judging teams who competed at the Central District Fall Eliminations yesterday. The forestry team placed 9th and the land team placed 2nd and will advance to the state competition in the spring!
FFA members attended the Sunbelt Ago Expo today in Moultrie, GA where students had the opportunity to meet with college representatives and business professionals in the agricultural industry.
These four students competed in the first round of their national ag mechanics CDE contest on Friday that consisted of a written exam that required the students to solve problems in all five pathways of agriculture. The next round will be in Indianapolis, IN in three weeks!
Thanks to Tom Whatley and Edward Oliver for inviting us out to the front porch this morning to present our chapter with a check to pay for National FFA Convention. Appreciate our public officials that support our student organizations and give back to students in their community!
Welding students have been hard at work to build this custom 8x16 flatbed trailer from scratch. Last year's class started it and this year's class finished it up. These students have been able to take the welding skills they have learned and apply them in a practical way!
FFA members and former BRHS students Wyatt Allen and Camden Adair interviewed today as finalist for National FFA proficiency awards. They are both currently top four in the nation in their area and will find out at National FFA Convention in October where they placed! #brffa
Agriscience students have planted the seeds for their fall crops that will be grown in our new table hydroponics systems. Seeds should start to germinate next week. Follow along to see their growth and development over the next few weeks.

Several of our chapter FFA officers attended the Tallapoosa County Farmers Federation meeting last night and had the opportunity to meet Representative Ed Oliver, Senate candidate Jay Hovey and Ag Commissioner Rick Pate.
Chapter FFA officers had the opportunity to tour the Mississippi State University College of Agriculture department while on our leadership retreat in Starkville. Officers met with department heads, advisors, and saw the hands-on labs in person. @ALEXCITYCTE
These students are all state champions in their individual SAE award areas! They have worked hard on their projects and spent countless hours on their proficiency applications. Congratulations and good luck at nationals.

The AG Construction team consisted of all 9th graders this year, but they didn't let that stop them. They did a fantastic job at contest yesterday. Their final results will be announced on stage Thursday morning at the Alabama FFA State convention!
